Just to recap, in our Cheese of the Month program, we select one Great Canadian Cheese, tell you a little about it and then donate 10% of the proceeds of sales of this monthly cheese to a local charitable organization. Last year, through various initiatives, Peches & Poivre donated in the neighbourhood of $1000.00 to local causes. Click on the photo to take you to our website and see which charity was chosen by our people’s poll, to receive proceeds of this year’s Cheese of the Month program.
This month’s cheese was awarded the 2016 Best Smoked Cheese Award at the Canadian Cheese Awards, and was the winner of the World’s Best Smoked Cheddar at the 2014 World Championship Cheese Contest.
Situated in La Sarre in Abitibi, La Vache à Maillotte is the very symbol of Quebec country cheeses made with sheep’s milk and/or raw cow’s milk.
They set themselves apart by their creative and innovative approach deeply rooted in traditions – the same traditions used in the art of creating, making and introducing people to quality cheeses of unique flavours.
