This month’s cheese for charity is the wonderful BEAU’S, from Gunn’s Hill Artisan Cheese in Woodstock Ontario
This Month Cheese Club features 3 Quebec cheeses. Two are from the Lac St-Jean Region, le 14 ARPENTS and VALBERT. The third one, LA MADELAINE is from Racine in the Eastern Township. They are so yummy and perfect for a gathering on the patio.
Just to recap, in our Cheese of the Month program, we select one Great Canadian Cheese, tell you a little about it and then donate 10% of the proceeds of sales of this monthly cheese to a local charitable organization. Last year, through various initiatives, Peches & Poivre donated in the neighbourhood of $1000.00 to local causes. Fritz Kaiser in Noyan, Quebec, founded the Fritz Kaiser cheese factory in 1981 near the border with the state of New York. Mr. Fritz Kaiser began crafting his cheeses in 1981 according to traditions from his homeland Switzerland.
