Our shop will likely remain open for the next foreseeable future, as we sell food.
It is really important to keep selling our Canadian artisan cheeses to help keep these small-scale cheesemakers and, in turn, all the family farms that they support by buying their milk from them.
We feel great urgency to help keep this production chain, if slowly, at least moving.
During this uncertain time, how about treating yourself to some fine goodies? Drop by Baker Bob’s for some fresh bread, perhaps some sausage from Don’s Meat Market and to Peches & Poivre for Canadian artisan cheeses, great olives and other lovely tasty accompaniments.
If you would prefer to stay home, for now, we are offering free delivery in Almonte and its 10 km radius + anywhere between Almonte and Clayton. Just give us a call (613) 256-5764 and we can make it happen.
This month we decided to feature one remarkable cheese maker: Glengarry Fine Cheese. They are located in Eastern Ontario just north of the village of Lancaster, on the shores of the St. Lawrence River. Margaret Peters-Morris & her team make delicious cheeses from the fresh milk of their Holsteins raised on the family farm. Margaret, a self-taught cheese maker, went from making cheese at home to running the most successful cheese shop in the region. So enjoy three of their their mouth-watering offerings!
