This month we decided to feature one remarkable cheese maker: Glengarry Fine Cheese. They are located in Eastern Ontario just north of the village of Lancaster, on the shores of the St. Lawrence River. Margaret Peters-Morris & her team make delicious cheeses from the fresh milk of their Holsteins raised on the family farm. Margaret, a self-taught cheese maker, went from making cheese at home to running the most successful cheese shop in the region. So enjoy three of their their mouth-watering offerings!
We did it!
Finally it’s time for the reveal, just in time for our 7th anniversary!
We were looking at making a menu for our coming time off, and with all the cheese in the fridge, we said “LET’S MAKE a TARTIFLETTE!” It is made with potatoes, reblochon type cheese, white wine, cream, lardons and onions. What’s not to like!
A fridge full of cheese shows a host or hostess is ready for entertaining. As food goes, cheese is perfectly suited for small gatherings, office parties and family get-togethers.
It does not need much preparation and makes it an easy way to make everyone feel a little spoiled. But best of all, you can use the leftovers to treat yourself to a wonderful mac & cheese, a fondue or enjoy simply on their own.
We are thrilled to announce that we just received more than 30 kilograms of cheese from Shep Ysselstein, the young, award-winning cheesemaker from Woodstock, Ontario. This year Shep has a real treat for us.
