Gourmet tea in Almonte
Susan and Louise, two best friends, started creating unique tea and herbal blends in 2012 as DIVERSITEA. They started with a handful of blends and now offer over 70 varieties.
We first met Susan and Louise at one of the spring markets here in Almonte many years ago. We have since developed a wonderful relationship. It’s a pleasure to see them when they deliver our latest order. Beyond tea, we share a love of animals and an interest in puppetry.
DiversiTea offers locally blended organic tea using locally sourced ingredients and tea from sustainably managed tea estates. They rely on organic tea leaves from different regions of the world. This includes organic green and red rooibos from South Africa for producing small batches of teas and tisanes.
Customers frequently praise the outstanding quality and freshness of their blends, which are highly fragrant, and flavourful. Their fruit and herbal blends (tisanes) are particularly popular for both hot brewing and making refreshing iced teas or mocktails.
I make a much appreciated iced tea on hot summer days using the 2TeaFruiTea blend. This refreshing blend of organic red and green rooibos teas features exotic fruits, including mango, pineapple, pomegranate, orange, and apple. Hibiscus, elderberry, and rosehips add a much-needed floral aroma to this full-flavoured cup.
We also carry some of their black teas (like Creamy Earl Grey and Canadian Breakfast), their green teas (such as Moroccan Mint and Chinese Lichee) and several of their herbal teas (e.g. Sweet Dreams and Ginger Lime Sensation).
