Crosswind Farm, Keene, Ontario

Kevin and Cindy’s goat dairy farm operation, Crosswind Farm, became a reality in 2006. In 2007, they brought home the does and soon began shipping goat milk.

They now make several varieties of cheese, as well as a line of goat’s milk-based bath and body products, including a variety of scented bars of soap that you can find in our shop.

Artisan Chèvre: Chive Onion Blend

This soft, fresh, creamy, fluffy, spreadable chèvre is delicately flavoured with a blend of chives and onion.  This delicate chevre has a mild creamy buttery flavour and is wonderful in a pasta dish, just add it to a warm pasta of your choice.  It’s just creamy delish!

Suggested wine / beer: Cabernet Franc or a Malbec like the Alamos Malbec. Sauvignon Blanc. German style pilsner.

Gunn’s Hill Artisan Cheese, Woodstock, Ontario

Gunn’s Hill Artisan Cheese is a small artisan cheese plant in Oxford County, Ontario.

You can taste the Swiss influence from techniques and recipes Shep Ysselstein learned while making cheese in the Swiss Alps. The milk used to create the cheeses comes from the Ysselstein family dairy farm run by Shep’s father and four brothers.

This cheese gets its name from the beer it is soaked in, the Dark Side Chocolate Stout, from Woodstock’s Upper Thames Brewery.
