The past year mirrored 2020 in so many ways and has been challenging for many. Even if we are quite worn out from the last two years, it showed us how resilient and resourceful we are.
We are always on the lookout for new Canadian Artisan cheeses, and we are so pleased when we find one like the one we featured in the October Cheese Club! The Kenzie, a beautiful crottin style soft goat cheese, is made in Keene, Ontario by the good people of Crosswind Farm.
This month members get to savour one Ontario cheese, Le Bon Secret and two Québec cheeses, La Mascotte and Victor and Berthold. What a feast!
The Ferme Louis d’Or is a family-run company operated by four generations of the Morin family. They changed to organic farming in the middle of the 1980s. The pastures provide the herd of Holstein and Jersey cows with clover, timothy grass, bluegrass and other organic grains. Furthermore, the cows are never given antibiotics or hormones. As a result of this care, the milk used to produce the cheese is of exceptional quality.
