We’re introducing “Cheese for Charity” to support a Lanark charity and would love your feedback on where to direct the funds raised!
Help us choose a charity to support
We are blessed we can eat three meals a day, our health is good so we can take care of our needs and those of our family, and that we live in a safe relationship. We all know this isn’t the case for everyone in our community!
We feel that we can make a difference, and we also know that the Mississippi Mills community cares and is generous when asked.
Sandra and I have been thinking about how to help in a new way, and how to join members of the community behind a cause. We have an idea and we need your help!
We have identified three charities helping different segment of the population of Mississippi Mills. We invite you to vote on the one you think should receive the funds we raise.
We’re calling it Cheese for Charity! By voting for the charity of your choice, you enter with a chance to win one month of Cheese Club.
How it works
We will select one Great Canadian Cheese each month. We’ll tell you a little about it and donate $1 for each cheese-of-the-month sold. We’ll also position a jar at the cash for your donations.
You can share your vote on Facebook, vote using our quick form, or even send us an email.
The charities
Carebridge is a non-profit agency dedicated to creating caring, inclusive, and thriving communities across Lanark County. For nearly 50 years, this agency has been a trusted provider of affordable housing, seniors’ services, and support for individuals with developmental disabilities—helping people to live with dignity, independence, and full inclusion.
Lanark County Food Bank. Since 1988 this non-denominational, non-political organization has been sustained solely by private donations. A needs-based food bank, it provides food to everyone who comes asking for help. They provide five days’ worth of food, once a month to families and individuals within our territory.
Lanark County Interval House and Community Support offer emergency and on-going programs to women and children living in or escaping from domestic violence.
