The latest in creative cuisine
Caviar-like in texture, the maple pearls, the latest product of cutting-edge creative cuisine, are exciting chefs and foodies everywhere. Used as a garnish, in cocktails and hors-d’œuvre or in desserts, when you bite into them the pearls burst in your mouth filling git with the quintessential essence of pure maple.
We are pleased, but not surprised, to find two of the cheese artisans, whose cheeses we have in our shop, in the finalists of the Canadian Cheese Awards for the best artisan cheeses made in Canada. This is the biggest cheese competition in Canada with 76 producers from Newfoundland to British Columbia submitting 291 cheeses for judging. The winners will be revealed during the awards ceremony, taking place in Toronto on April 7, 2014.
We want to wish the best to Maple Dale Cheese, finalist in the Mild/Medium Cheddar category (aged up to 9 months), for their Medium White Cheddar, and, for their 5 Year Old White Cheddar in the Aged Cheddar category (aged 4 years and more).
