What’s up with December 1st, why is it so special? It’s the time of year where we get Gunn’s Hill 5 Brothers Reserve!!!
This cheese is a handcrafted washed-rind cow’s milk cheese that resembles a Swiss variety called Appenzeller.
What makes it special? The cheese maker takes the already delicious, wonderful 5 Brothers cheese and ages it for a minimum of 18 months.
The result? It adds a robust flavour to the sweet, creamy and rich flavours of the young 5 Brothers. When looking at the cheese you will see distinctive eyes throughout the body of the cheese. It’s a feast for your taste buds, nose, and eyes.
It comes out just once a year on December first. When it’s gone you’ll have to wait for next year!
