The cheesemaker: Fromagerie L’ÎLE-AUX-GRUES Quebec

Situated 40 minutes east of Quebec City, in the middle of the St-Lawrence river, lies a 9km long island: l’Île-aux-Grues. The fromagerie employs a good number of the island’s inhabitants and plays a major role in the economic development of the region.

The cheese: Medium Cheddar

Excellent with a white sweet Riesling or Sauvignon Blanc. If you prefer red, choose a Sirah or Cabernet Sauvignon.

Pick up a piece of Medium Cheddar, March’s Cheese of the Month, and know that you are helping to contribute to a valuable community initiative; 10% of the proceeds from sales of this special cheese will be donated directly to Hub Hospice Palliative Care.
